Liverpool FC has confirmed via their official website and Facebook page that Roy Hodgson has departed by mutual consent. Kenny Dalglish will take over for the match against Manchester United in the FA Cup.

This will no doubt delight the fans who have been calling for his head after a string of poor results that has left them at a mediocre 12th place in the Barclay's Premier League.

The timing may be a little off, right before the United matchup, as it could disturb the players and leave them shocked. Though if there is one man to lead Liverpool FC into a matchup with their greatest rivals Manchester United, it is King Kenny Dalglish, who while in charge at 'Pool, won several titles.

Whether or not Kenny Dalglish is seen as interim or permanent manager remains to be seen. The one thing for certain is, Roy Hodgson is gone from Liverpool, and will most certainly not be missed.
