With two returning players (with a combined 1.6 ppg in 2007-2008), the Indiana Hoosiers are in for an uphill battle this winter in Bloomington. Most fans will be pleased if the Hoosiers break doubledigits in the win column this season. However, a phrase that has been stated all too often in recent Hoosier history appears to be as true as ever... Help really is on the way.
With 6'7" 215 lb Christian Watford's commitment, Indiana's 2009 recruiting class is now a consensus top 5 class. With a RSCI ranking of 29th in the nation, Watford is the highest ranked recruit to ever commit to Tom Crean. He will be joined by SG Maurice Creek, PF Bobby Capobianco, and Indiana natives PF Derek Elston, and PG Jordan Hulls. On paper, the Hoosiers have used all available scholarships for the 2009 class, but Tom Crean stated this week that he is open to over-signing. Who might be the final piece of Crean's 2nd recruiting class at Indiana? Many think it could be 6'11" 255 lb Bawa Muniru, a native of Ghana. He is expected to make a visit to Bloomington the weekend of Sept 20th.
