Rashad Evans KO's Chuck Liddell—Did You Expect Any Less?
Did anyone else put money on Rashad? I sure hope so. Honestly, Chuck is a great fighter on his way to the Hall of Fame, but he is not the most diverse fighter out there. As a matter of fact, he is pretty one-dimensional with the exception of a magic punch that makes you fall down whenever he touches you.
The thing that I notice about Evans is that he has KO power in both hands as well as many other tools. Many "Ice-Man" fans that watched the fight with me thought it was a lucky punch.
Considering Chuck's age, coupled with the fact that he is noticeably on his way out of the sport simply due to the level of competition, I can understand why any Die Hard "Ice-Man" may make that argument.
But then again you have Evans who, knowing what the public would think, did the hard thing and stood Toe to Toe with Lidell and beat him at his own game (which he was quoted as saying after the fight).
Rashad knew that the only way he could prove that what he was getting ready to do to Lidell would not be taken seriously unless he did it right...and people, he did it right!
Bravo, Rashad!
