Hey Chicago What Do You Say?!: The Cubs Are Still Gonna Win the World Series
Let's face it—the Cubs have been downright awful the last week and a half.
They blown all of their leads, and have performed every game like they are waiting to lose. But this team is just simply too talented to go down without a fight.
The Cubs still lead the National League Central by four-and-a-half games over the Brewers, and they are still first in most major offensive statistical categories. They got a big win over the Cardinals on Wednesday night, and in baseball you just need one to get a whole string of wins started.
Tonight marks the return of ace righty Rich Harden. Harden is 4-1 (9-2 overall) with the Cubs and has been one of the best pitchers in the N.L. since switching leagues.
Tonight's game is a must-win for the Cubs, as they face the hottest team in baseball (pending Ike interference) in a three game set on the road this weekend. Followed by a series versus second place Milwaukee.
The Cubs will also get ace pitcher Carlos Zambrano back to start Saturday against Houston. Zambrano has struggled of late, but now is fully healthy and ready to make a major impact.
The Cubs currently do not have a pitcher with double digit losses, and are the only team in Major League Baseball to have accomplished that feat thus far this season.
