One eye on work. The other eye on the clock.
That's basically what Gail Kim has been doing. It's more of a figurative thing than a literal thing, because Kim is actually one of the hardest working performers in the business. She has a contract to fulfill and she does so in a professional manner.
However, deep down, Kim has to be counting down the months until her contract ends.
Kim's contract with WWE is expected to expire at the end of 2011.
Considering how she has been used by WWE, it would not come as a shock to anyone if she were to simply let it expire and look at other options.
At just 33 years of age, Kim still has something left in the tank. She's a proud performer, and would like the world to know that she can still produce at a high level. There was a time when the Canadian born wrestler was viewed as the best female performer in the business.
The belief is that WWE will be willing to let her walk once her contract expires.
It is widely believed that WWE had only signed Kim to take her away from TNA. The massively popular Knockouts division was clearly a sore point within WWE. They needed to weaken their foe, so they made Kim a deal that was just too much for Dixie Carter to match.
With everything in mind, Kim's time in WWE is just winding away.
