What a relief. Literally
It looks as if the Yankees offseason might not be a complete flop.
After the Cliff Lee sweepstakes ended differently than most would expect, and the Red Sox made some huge moves in landing both Adrian Gonzalez and Carl Crawford, the Yanks need to do something.
Rafael Soriano would be that move.
Soriano is willing to fill the huge void in the Yankees bullpen and become their setup man. This would also lock him up as the great Mariano Rivera's successor.
Soriano would require big bucks to bring him in, but the Yankees already have huge wallets and the money they didn't spend to bring in Lee.
Rafael Soriano is by far the biggest name left in the free-agent market that has already seen its share of mega-deals this season. Why not add another?
The ex-Ray reliever would finally allow Yankees fans to rest easy.
