Brent Calloway Decommits From Alabama, Commits To Auburn At Army Bowl
Five-star linebacker Brent Calloway, one of the nation's top overall recruits, made a couple of surprise announcements at the 2011 U.S. Army High School Football All-American Bowl on Saturday.
At the start of the game Calloway announced that he was decommitting from Alabama, where he's been a longtime commitment, and would make his decision between Auburn, LSU and USC.
In the fourth quarter of the game, Calloway committed to Auburn and should add some fire to the annual rivalry between the two Alabama powerhouses.
"I weighed out everything, I talked to the coaches, and I love it there [at Auburn]," Calloway said.
Calloway is a player that won't wow you in drills or in the weight room, but the game film speaks for itself. Some guys are just gamers. He's one of those guys.
The news must come as a big blow to Alabama, with the Crimson Tide having one of the best recruiting classes in the country and counting on Calloway to be a big part of an expected linebacker haul that also includes 5-star outside linebacker Trey DePriest.
