Rich Rodriguez Fired: Brandon's thoughts on the next coach
Michigan athletic director David Brandon: "The passion for Michigan is incredible. I can show you the email chain. Michigan football is the doorway to the University of Michigan....I look at Notre Dame, Michigan State, Ohio State, Iowa and bowl opponents (as benchmarks) and my old coach used to call those red-letter games. We're 3-15 in those games in the last three years."
As for the transition and losing players, Brandon said, "The risk factor is there. It creates uncertainty. Our job is to communicate with our players and make sure they have a clear understanding of the process. They're going to ahve to trust me that I will go out and find the kind of coach that will make them successful.
"We're gathering them together after classes today and speaking to them, and we'll have one-on-ones with some of them.
"We will be delaying (recruiting) visits that were previously scheduled for this weekend," Brandon added, in what could be a huge setback for Michigan football.
