Willis and Garcia Get the Nod Next Week

Austin DrakeSenior Analyst ISeptember 10, 2008

With the hopes of a playoff birth all but done with, the Tigers begin to look ahead to next season.

Next week on Monday (9/15/08), Dontrelle Willis will head back out to the hill for his first time in over three months. His last start versus Cleveland lasted just 1 1/3 innings after he gave up eight earned.

Since then he has been all over in the Tigers' minor leagues working his way back to the Majors when "September Call-Ups" came around.

On Wednesday of next week (9/17/08), Freddy Garcia will make his Tiger debut. He was signed as a Free Agent on August 12th. Since then he has made some minor league starts before getting another big league chance.

This is Garcia's 4th Major League team (Seattle, Chicago W. and Philadelphia). In his last season in the majors, Garcia went 1-5, with a 5.90 ERA.

Both pitchers will face the Texas Rangers.
