Laura Govan, longtime WAG of Orlando Magic guard Gilbert Arenas, has ended her relationship with the NBA star, according to a report in the Washington Post.
Arenas and Govan have been together for nine years, and have three children together. She is currently four months pregnant with their fourth.
According to the report, when Arenas was traded to Orlando earlier this month, he severed connections with Govan and his family, not calling or returning calls. Arenas reportedly left the family at their Grand Falls home with no money for food or Christmas presents.
Publicist Laura Wright, who worked for Govan's sister, said in an e-mailed statement that "Govan and the children feel like they have been abandoned."
Arenas is currently averaging 15.5 points and 5.5 assists for the Magic this season.

ESPN anchor Will Selva has been suspended indefinitely by the sports media moguls after the anchor stole the lead to a piece from a California columnist.
Selva took the lead from an article by Orange County Register columnist Kevin Ding previewing the San Antonio Spurs-Los Angeles Lakers clash on December 26, to use for the recap on December 27.
He used the text almost verbatim, and the show, "Highlight Express" was broadcast on a constant loop on the morning after the game.
Selva has been with ESPN for three years, and is most recognized for his work on ESPNews.
Selva issued a statement apologizing for his actions on Wednesday.

Fox News political pundit Tucker Carlson created a media firestorm Wednesday night, when he said that Eagles quarterback Michael Vick should have been executed for his treatment of dogs.
A conservative political commentator known for his bowties and occasionally outlandish statements, Carlson was discussing President Barack Obama's commendation of Eagles owner Jeffrey Laurie for giving Vick a chance to show he's rehabilitated. Vick served 18 months for dogfighting and racketeering, and Obama has said in the past he believes people who have served sentences for crimes deserve a chance to show they're rehabilitated.
"I'm a Christian, I've made mistakes myself, I believe fervently in second chances," Carlson said on the show. "But Michael Vick killed dogs, and he did [it] in a heartless and cruel way. And I think, personally, he should've been executed for that. He wasn't, but the idea that the president of the United States would be getting behind someone who murdered dogs?"
Carlson continued his attack by calling Vick "a creepy, overpaid football player".
The Eagles declined comment.

Justine Henin, the Belgian tennis player who was the no. 1 ranked women's player in the world at one point, plans to play in the Hopson Open on Saturday, six months after injuring her elbow.
Henin ruptured a ligament in her right elbow during a Wimbledon fourth round match against longtime rival Kim Clijsters. She has not played since, and will be starting with a fairly low-level tournament.
But is her decision to come back really a good idea? She admitted Thursday morning that her elbow was not at 100 percent yet, nor was she able to play without pain at this point.
Elbow injuries, particularly ligament injuries like the one the seven-time Grand Slam champion suffered have a nasty tendency to linger and get tweaked. If she's not careful, this could be the kind of injury that plagues her for years.
Still, she knows her body and it's limits better than anyone, and if she wants to play, she has probably considered all of this. If she thinks she's ready, odds are good she is.

The Ohio State football players who were suspended for the first five games of the 2011 season will return to the team and serve their punishment, according to a report in the Columbus Dispatch.
Starting quarterback Terrelle Pryor, leading rusher Dan "Boom" Herron, wide receiver DeVier Posey, offensive lineman Mike Adams and defensive lineman Solomon Thomas were each suspended for five games by the NCAA for selling memorabilia.
Because each of them were juniors, the suspended players could have opted to declare for the NFL Draft, rendering their suspensions moot. But according to Buckeyes head coach Jim Tressel, the players have pledged to return to school and take their punishment.
"I'm excited to say that all of the guys who were involved, knowing perhaps they had some options like playing in this game and then leaving and maybe another option would be to take themselves out of this game hoping the appeal for the future would be softened, none of them want to do that," Tressel said.

Miami Heat superstar LeBron James turns 26 on Thursday, and he's hosting a massive, star-studded party at a South Beach club.
But James isn't content to pay for the festivities. Instead, CNN reported Tuesday that James is attempting to find sponsors willing to shell out up to $500,000 to pay for the bash, in return for the opportunity to hobknob with celebrities and athletes.
James is reportedly using a marketing firm to solicit investors in his birthday bash, as well as $10,000 tickets to his "LeBron James Dinner Party Tour", an 11-city party circuit that extends all through the NBA season.
King James is making $14.5 million in 2010, but that's not stopping him from looking for backers for his lavish party.
Why someone who is one of the wealthiest athletes in history needs sponsors to pay for his birthday bash is beyond me, but for the low, low price of $500,000, your business can be attached to the "Full-Court Birthday Celebration".

LeBron James turns 26 today, and the Miami Heat's superstar forward celebrated a little early. James scored 20 points and dished out 9 assists on Wednesday night, as the Heat knocked off the Houston Rockets 125-119.
James has been on fire in recent games, but the superstar played the role of distributor and playmaker on Wednesday, while Dwayne Wade took care of the scoring.
The Rockets took a lead in the first half of the clash, but Wade was on fire, totalling 45 points and 7 rebounds. Luis Scola scored 22 points for Houston, while Aaron Brooks added 20 points in the loss.
Fortunately for the Heat, they won't be playing on LeBron's birthday this season. James is 1-3 in games on December 30, so Miami's recent tear would be in jeopardy.

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre was fined $50,000 by the NFL on Wednesday, for impeding the league's investigation into whether the quarterback sent photos and voicemails to Jenn Sterger in 2008.
But did the NFL let one of their marquee players off easy with a fine? Most outlets have already covered the fact that Favre made enough to cover the financial hit in three minutes of Sunday's game against the Eagles, based on his salary. So for the quarterback, the fine is nothing more than a pittance.
But given that the league claims to lack conclusive evidence that the photos and voicemails were actually from Favre, it makes sense that they didn't hit him with any more sanctions.
And when the fine is compared to the other penalties commissioner Roger Goodell has levied against individual players, it's definitely in the upper echelon financially.
It wouldn't make sense to suspend Favre, since he's expressed a desire to retire after this season, and he may not play in the Vikes' finale.
So, while the rest of the country may think Favre sent the pictures, the fact that the NFL doesn't buy it means they couldn't punish Favre more than they did.

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre's week just got even worse.
The same day that Favre was fined $50,000 for impeding the NFL's investigation into alleged photos he sent to Jenn Sterger, the quarterback failed several neurological tests necessary to play in Week 17's clash with the Detroit Lions.
Favre suffered a concussion in Minnesota's Week 15 loss to the Chicago Bears, and missed last week's win over the Philadelphia Eagles.
The future Hall of Famer has said that this will be the end of the road on his 20-year career, and multiple sources close to Favre have said he wants to go out with a start.
However, until he passes the baseline neurological tests, NFL rules will prevent Favre from ending his career on a high note.

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre was fined $50,000 yesterday by the NFL, as the league concluded it's probe of voice mails and illicit photos Favre allegedly sent to former New York Jets sideline hostess Jenn Sterger.
The fine was not for violating the league's conduct policy; instead, commissioner Roger Goodell fined the quarterback for failing to cooperate with investigators during the probe.
Goodell said that the league could not determine whether or not Favre had actually violated the NFL's conduct policy, but he was "not candid in several respects during the investigation resulting in a longer review and additional negative public attention for Favre, Sterger and the NFL," the league said in their statement.
The commissioner did warn Favre that had he found more substantial evidence, the punishment would have been much more severe.

Jenn Sterger's NFL investigation may be over, but that doesn't mean the Versus anchor (or her legal team) are content with the league's decision.
Sterger's attorney, Joseph Conway, lashed out at the league's decision to fine Favre $50,000 for failing to cooperate with their investigation into the alleged photos and voicemails sent to Sterger during the 2008 season.
"It clearly shows that an NFL star player was given preferential treatment and tells all other players that failure to cooperate may cost you some money but will not result in other punishment," said Conway, according to a report on ESPN.com. "Additionally, today's decision is an affront to all females and shows once again that, despite tough talk, the NFL remains the good old boys' league."
The investigation began when news website Deadspin released the alleged photos of Favre's gunslinger earlier this year. The league claimed the proceedings took longer than usual because of the difficulty of setting up interviews with the parties involved and in retrieving the electronic evidence needed to prove anything.

Will Selva, one of ESPN's Sportscenter and ESPNews anchors, has been suspended indefinitely by the network after it was revealed that he had plagiarized a lead from a newspaper columnist.
According to a report in the San Francisco Chronicle, Selva issued an apology Wednesday for stealing all but a few words of the lead of Orange County Register columnist Kevin Ding's piece previewing Tuesday's clash between the San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Lakers.
Selva used the lead almost verbatim while hosting ESPN's "Highlight Express" segment, which aired throughout Wednesday morning. Later that day, he issued an apology for his actions.
"I made a horrible mistake and I'm deeply sorry. I did not live up to my high standards or ESPN's," Selva said in a statement, according to the Chronicle, "I sincerely apologize for my sloppiness, especially to Kevin Ding, viewers and colleagues. In my 15 years in broadcast journalism, nothing like this has ever happened and I will make every effort to ensure it won't happen again."
Selva has been a frequent host of ESPNews, and has been with the network for three years.

Mike Krzyzewski, the longtime men's basketball coach of the Duke Blue Devils, passed former North Carolina head coach Dean Smith on the all time wins list on Wednesday night, as the Blue Devils demolished the North Carolina-Greensboro Spartans 108-62.
Coach K has turned the Blue Devils into a perennial powerhouse in the college basketball world, and his 880 wins are second only to Indiana legend Bobby Knight amongst Division I men's basketball coaches.
Krzyzewski's win is particularly meaningful because he passes Smith, the former head coach of the Blue Devils' hated rivals, the North Carolina Tar Heels.
The outcome was never really in doubt, as the Spartans couldn't get closer than eight points after Duke opened the game with a 15-2 run. Guard Nolan Smith scored a season-high 26 points, while small forward Kyle Singler chipped in with 27.

Duke basketball head coach Mike Krzyzewski hit another major coaching milestone on Wednesday night, moving into second place on the all-time wins list with the Blue Devils' 108-62 victory over the North Carolina-Greensboro Spartans.
This one was seldom in doubt from the opening tip, as Duke jumped out to a 15-2 lead just four minutes into the contest. They asserted their dominance throughout the first half, shooting to a 53-32 halftime lead, and cruised to an easy win over the in-state foe.
The victory was Krzyzewski's 880th career coaching win, which moves him past longtime North Carolina head coach Dean Smith and into second all time on the career wins list.
The only coach still ahead of Coach K is Indiana legend Bobby Knight, whose 902 wins are the most of any coach in college basketball history.

The NFC's Pro Bowl roster was released on Tuesday, and now that we've had a full day to digest it's contents, it's time to take a long, hard look at some of the players who missed the cut.
Most conspicuously absent from the list is Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers emerged as a bona fide star in 2010, and has been one of the league's best quarterbacks despite running an offense decimated by injury.
San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis is another surprise omission. Davis had a better season than starter Tony Gonzalez, and is the better player right now. Likewise, New York Giants wideout Hakeem Nicks was one of the NFL's best wideouts, and deserved a spot on the roster.
Defensively, the biggest swing and miss was on New Orleans Saints safety Malcom Jenkins, who had a stellar season, but was overlooked in favor of Adrian Wilson, Nick Collins and Antrel Rolle.
