After a masterful pitching performance by young gun, Jon Lester last night, the red hot Red Sox took game one of one of the most important series of the year. Jon Lester pitched 7 and 2/3 inning allowing 0 runs in one of his most important starts in September.David Ortiz, Kevin Youkilis and Jason Bay all scored for the Sox while, Jonathan Papelbon cam in to pitch a four out save in a 3-0 victory.

Dustin Pedroia went 0 for 4, while newly acquired Mark Kotsay went 2-3 with a walk.

Tonight another pitching duel is set. Scott Kazmir (11-6)is opposing the winning est Red Sox pitcher of 2008, Daisuke Matsuzaka(16-2).

Look for this game to be a battle of the Sox bullpen.Daisuke Matsuzaka only average about 5 2/3 innings per start or about 120 pitches.Where as Scott Kazmir's longest performance of the season came against the Red Sox in the last series in Tampa.

Game Two Prediction: Red Sox 6-2
