The NFL Playoff Picture would be a lot better if it didn't include the NFC West this season. Granted if you win your division, you should make the playoffs, but this is one of those years where an exception should be made to the rule.

The St. Louis Rams, at 7-8, can win the NFC West with a win over the Seahawks next week. Conversely, if the Seahawks win, they then clinch the NFC West and make the playoffs. This means a best case scenario would have an 8-8 team in the playoffs, and leaving two teams with records above .500 out of the playoffs.

If the Seahawks win, then it's a 7-9 team in the playoffs, and the Football Gods will voice their displeasure with the situation. Life will go on, but no matter what, it's kind of embarrassment for the NFL.

I'm not clamoring for change because this just doesn't happen that often, but it's still one of those things you'd rather not see happen.
