Their excellent series ended with a 14-yard over the middle touchdown pass from QB Matt Cassel to RB Jamaal Charles.
Matt Cassel was the star of the drive as he was perfect with a four for four performance and he completed the drive with 55 yards passing, including a 21-yard sideline connection to Dwayne Bowe in the first play from scrimmage of the game.
The drive was set up by strong play from the offensive line as Matt Cassel had plenty of time to throw in nearly every passing play.
It was important for the Chiefs to come out and play well in their first offensive series and they did just against a physical Tennessee defense.
