A Sad Future...
Why Britney? Why Britney? This was the look of Kobe when he read "Britney Spears: Piece of Me" for video of the year at last night's 2008 Video Music Awards of MTV. I don't blame him.
Spears lacks the respect, maturity and talent to truly wow America... in a positive way.
She seems consistently to be the topic of many talks around the water cooler each morning. She makes millions each month and yet spends most of it having the time of her life. Spears, single-handedly has become the laughing stock of our century. I know many of you wouldn't disagree...
Although Kobe was in the media for his alleged rape and his immature barking with Shaq and Jackson, he seems to have reached the maturity he's needed for years. The question at hand, why does it seem that the top stars in their respective field are almost never in the media.
Do we ever hear of John Legend fighting at a club? Tiger Woods in a drunken rage?
What about Michael Jordan? Kevin Garnett? Lebron James? Charles Barkley?
We as fans need to support those stars who know how to handle what's given to them. Sadly, people like Spears will never go away if we keep supporting them. If people like Ron Artest can ruin the reputation of a National Association, WE can stop supporting those who don't know what to do with their fame.
Sure they may add a lot to the entertainment news but why is someone else's continuous fall so interesting to us?
