I finally flip to football Sunday and find the Chiefs and the Patriots playing each other. "Wow, this game is over" was the first thought in my mind. Yet, as I look the at the score, I'm astonished to see that the Chiefs are hanging in there. Then I hear that Tom Brady is out with an injury, and the hater in me smiled a little.
While I'm no fan of the Patriots, I'm not ready to say this is the worst thing that could happen to the Patriots. Now don't get me wrong, I understand that the loss of Brady is a huge blow to the Patriots machine, but there might be some rays of sunlight coming through the clouds.
Tom Brady is coming off the best statistical year ever, but in all probability Brady would not put up the same kind of numbers. Brady has had injury problems before the season ever started, and after last year, the Patriots have a huge target on their back.
- B/R Ticket Guide
Yet, if Brady is out for the season and all goes well with his knee, he can come back completely healthy and without the huge expectations to compare to his record breaking year.
Yet, this injury may not only be a good thing for Brady, but the Patriots as a whole. One might be lead to believe that the Patriots are at best a 7-9 team from the talk of sports commentators, but there is still a lot of talent on the team.
With Brady being injured the Patriots go from Super Bowl favorites, to lucky if they make it into the postseason for most people. Now that the Patriots are seen as being weak, they can effectively fly under the radar, and leave it to Bill Belichick to make brillant game plans around this fact.
The last advantage of this injury is that fans may no longer have high hopes. In fact, some may have already given up on the season and started getting ready for next year. As such, does it matter if the Patriots win or lose?
After the Super Bowl loss of last year, it may make all the difference to the players to have that burden pulled of their shoulders. So, while Brady being injured is a huge blow, there might be a rainbow for Patriots fans yet.

That's a stretch. The NFL is a win now league. You never know how long you will be at the top of your game, and losing Brady is killer. I get what you're saying, but to quote the film classic Joe Dirt, "Don't church it up."

Well like you said, losing Brady is killer, so you're going to have to stretch to find any thing positive. It must be hard, especially since some of their player are reaching the end of their career. Thank you for you comment and all your valid points

Eddie, why all the hate? Be a real fan. not a yahoo. If your qb went down, I'd wish you all the best, and I do. Good luck to whom ever your team may be. As for the Pats...........don't count them dead just yet. I remember when we drafted Brady, the fan consensus was, why? Belichik knows talent. thanks to what some call the "mo lewis miracle" we found out how truly amazing brady is. I'm a fan of the game, man. Good luck to all of you and thanks to those of you who expressed your best wishes for our qb. the season is young. GO PATS!

Ha! Thank God. By the way, I have always hated Tom Brady and I am glad he is out for the season.
I am a Packers fan, so tell me my excuse for not liking Tom Brady. By the way, Tom Brady isn't no class act. He is a cocky, arrogant pretty boy who doesn't belong in the sport of football. As a matter of fact, the whole Patriots organization doesn't for what they did last season. The NFL has no room for cheaters.

While I agree Brady is cocky and Bill and Randy showed classlessness in thier comments about it being a dirty play, you still can't be happy about injuries. By the way, what was the move of bringing in two quarterbacks only to tell them go home before you look at them? That is the kind of stuff that makes people hate Bill.
