Ohio State Football Violations: Terrelle Pryor suspended
Ohio State AD Gene Smith just said the players sold Ohio State items, including autographs, because of the economic times. They were trying to help their families.
He praised them for being honest and forthright during the process so that the school could move swiftly.
Jim Tressel is now speaking.
If the suspensions hold up -- Smith said he would appeal -- you can forget about Terrelle Pryor going for the Heisman Trophy next year. He is one of the five players suspended for the first five games of the next year. Even if the suspension is reduced to three games, that would be a lot to overcome in terms of the award.
In terms of the season, can't imagine OSU couldn't survive those first five games at 4-1, at least.
