Ohio State Football: "Tat-Gate" could mean NCAA violations
To recap again, multiple sources are reporting that what started out as wild rumors on Tuesday are apparently true on Wednesday -- Ohio State is investigating whether a handful of football players received free tattoos from a Columbus tattoo parlor in exchange for autographs, an NCAA no-no.
(An aside -- this HAS to be the first NCAA investigation involving tattoos, right? I mean, this is just too bizarre, and humorous).
10TV News in Columbus is reporting that sources are saying some form of punishmen is "probable," but there is some debate about whether that punishment would be suspension from the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 4 against Arkansas, or whether discipline would be meted out at the beginning of the 2011 season.
(An aside -- if I'm Ohio State, I'm prolonging the "investigation" as long as I can, right? And if I'm the tattoo parlor owner, I'm taking a vow of omerta before people in Columbus start grabbing pitchforks and fire).
