Panthers Vs. Steelers: Roethlisberger Sack, Short Punt Lead to Panthers' Score
Carolina ended Pittsburgh's hopes for a shutout with a field goal that cut Pittsburgh's lead to 27-3. However, the Steelers have to be happy that they held the Panthers out of the end zone after surrendering such good field position to them on the punt.
Roethlisberger took a seven yard sack on third down that set-up a short punt and good return for the Panthers. They took over at the Steelers' 23-yard-line and had a golden opportunity to finally score against the Steelers' defense. They did, of course, put some points on the board. However, they had to settle for a field goal. Failing to reach the endzone has to be frustrating to the Panthers. it seemed like they finally caught a good break, and they were unable to capitalize.
The Steelers should try to run the ball to run the clock down. Don't expect to see much explosive offense from the Steelers from this point forward.
