Panthers Vs. Steelers Thursday Night Football: Steelers Lead 20-0 At Halftime
Shaun Suisham stayed a perfect 12-12 in a Steelers uniform with a 29-yard field goal with 39 seconds left in the first half. The game could not have been going much better for the Steelers.
The Panthers fumbled the ensuing kick return and they seem to coming apart at the seams.
After spiking the ball and then taking a shot at the end zone on the following play, Roethlisberger tried to extend the next play and took a bad sack. The Steelers were able to get a timeout called with only two seconds remaining in the half. Unfortunately, Shaun Suisham missed his first field goal as a Steeler as time expired.
While the Steelers are comfortably leading the Panthers, there are some areas that Pittsburgh could tighten up. Roethlisberger has played sloppily at times, losing a fumble and taking a costly sack near the end of the half. They are only 1-5 on third down.
However, there are many bright spots for the Steelers. They have gained a total of 288 yards, 239 of those yards through the air. On defense, the Steelers have limited the Panthers to only 84 yards of total offense. Mike Wallace is closing in on a 100-yards receiving with three receptions for 98 yards.
Look for the Steelers to try to control the clock in the second half.
