Panthers Vs. Steelers Thursday Night Football: Carolina's Opening Drive
Carolina's offense is looking strong behind the strong running of Jonathan Stewart. He has run the ball well, despite the absence of his fullback, Tony Fiammetta.
Carolina had converted on two big third down plays prior to getting called for consecutive false starts that led to a 3rd-and-13. The Panthers were unable to get to the sticks for a first down.
The Panthers chose to punt the ball in lieu of a 50 yard attempt. It appeared that the punt was downed at the Steelers 1-yard-line; however Hudson's foot was on the goal-line.
The Steelers may be in for a long night if they let the Panthers move the ball this easily all night long. Pittsburgh particularly needs to stiffen up their run defense. Stewart is a strong back. However, the Steelers need to play to their strengths to beat the Panthers. Their strength is run defense.
