It's true. Reigning MVP Tom Brady suffered a serious knee injury after getting hit by Chief's Bernard Pollard. I think it's safe to say the Pats won't go 16-0 again. They have reportedly contacted free-agent Chris Simms who will show up in New England Monday morning so the Patriots can give him a workout and physical. Now Laurence Maroney will surely receive a much more important role as they can no longer go to the air game as frequently as in 2007. Brady's backup Matt Cassel also is in the picture for the starting job as he played well after Tom left the game, but Simms is a more likely option, seeing how he has more experience in the starting role. But the question in everyone's mind now is, can the Patriots rely on any quarterback other than Tom Brady to lead them to the Playoffs?
