Las Vegas Bowl 2010: Utah Bids Farewell To the MWC
Las Vegas Bowl 2010 will be the final football game Boise State plays as a member of the Western Athletic Conference: they join the Mountain West conference starting in 2011.
Ironically, their opponent tonight, the Utah Utes, currently member of the Mountain West, is also leaving their conference to join the Pac-10. And, ironically, the Utes also let the WAC to join the Mountain West, way back in 1999.
Utah tied for the conference's best record that year, earning a spot in the Las Vegas bowl, where they defeated Fresno State.
And since then, the Utes have won the MWC outright three times, in 2003, 2004, and 2008. During their 11 seasons in the Mountain West, they posted 62 wins and 27 losses.
