Brett Favre: Vikings Quarterback Ready For Retirement
Brett Favre is done for the season, and possibly his career after suffering a concussion on a sack by Bears DE, Corey Wootton, in Monday Night Football's first quarter. The turf at TCF Stadium was frozen, having been covered in snow until less than 24 hours before game time.
Favre's helmet bounced off the turf at the end of the play, and he laid motionless for several moments before being helped off the field.
All reports pointed to rookie Joe Webb getting the start. However, just minutes before kickoff, Favre decided he was healthy enough to play, and told ESPN he wanted to play in a blizzard. However, the snow let up shortly before kickoff, and Favre didn't last long beyond that.
If this is really it for Favre, it ends a 20-year, Hall of Fame career.
