Manny Pacquiao: Pacman to fight May 7 in U.S., Opponent Still Unknown
We may not know who Manny Pacquiao will fight next, but we now know where and when he'll do it.
Pacman's promoter, Bob Arum, announced Tuesday that the boxer's next fight will be May 7, and will likely take place at the MGM Grand Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
However, as of now, Pacquiao's next opponent is unknown. According to ESPN.com's Dan Rafael, the most likely candidates are Shane Moseley, Juan Manuel Marquez and Andre Berto. Noticeably absent from that list is the only other candidate for boxing's best pound-for-pound fighter title, Floyd Mayweather.
The Mayweather fight would be the most lucrative and widely watched match in history, in all likelihood, but the two camps have failed to reach an agreement in two separate sets of meetings. Moseley is the most likely opponent at this point, although everyone seems to like the idea of a third Pacquiao/Marquez clash.
