When the news broke late last night that Cliff Lee had decided to rejoin the Philadelphia Phillies, even the biggest fans of the team were shocked.
Sure, everyone had heard that Lee had wanted to spend his career in Philly. Of course, this was after he was traded to Seattle. But let's face it, the Yankees made an offer that was off the charts, and while we knew he was not a New York guy, the Rangers made him a better offer then the Phillies.
Surely he would opt to stay in Texas. The Phillies had traded him, and he seemed to love Texas. Nope.
Lee decided that the right decision was to forget about being tossed aside for Roy Halladay and join him, with Roy Oswalt and Cole Hamels, to be "The Four Horsemen."
While Texas offered Lee a good chance to win a World Series, Lee knows that this group of pitchers is the best of a generation on one team and could be the best four pitchers on a team ever in major league baseball history.
Where would there be a better chance to win a World Series? Nowhere.
