Iowa Football Drug Scandal: Drug Testing the Players
Ferentz says that of 115 players on the team, it's a wide slice of where they come from socially. It's a process, he said, of the player adhering to what they look for.
Ferentz said the arrest of Johnson-Koulianos was indeed drug-related and that he would address the situation further later on, but is stressing that he wants to get out ahead of the game by drug testing and that the program will continue to do so. If you don't think drug culture is part of the student body, he said, you're being naive.
His goal is to find out about players ahead of the game and the team has been proactive. Nintey-two athletes have been tested from the team, he said.
