So, Elin Nordegren is dating again.
London's The Sun newspaper reported yesterday that the former Mrs. Tiger Woods has been seen cavorting around the college she attends in Florida with a 35-year-old South African, officially putting an end to the Tiger Era of her life.
But who has rebounded faster?
Has Woods even begun to get his life back? We're taking a long, hard look at Tiger's life and Elin's to figure out which one of them has been able to put everything back together faster.
At the end of the day, Elin's still a former Swedish bikini model who loves kids and wants to have a happy family out of the public spotlight.
Or, as many guys would call it, "The Jackpot."
Tiger? He's definitely not a Swedish bikini model. In fact, he's always been kind of awkward looking. Especially during those months when he tried to pull off a goatee, but just looked like a super-villain.
Plus, he's not exactly the most socially adept human being on the planet, which doesn't help matters.
Elin seems happy and content to spend time with her family, who seem to genuinely enjoy her company.
She loves spending time with her two kids and certainly doesn't seem to be trying to make it look like she's still a family woman, even though it's clear that she is.
Now, I'm not trying to say Tiger doesn't love his kids or enjoy spending time with them. But, sometimes, it just feels a bit like he's just doing it to get some good publicity going.
Plus, every time he goes and picks the kids up, it has to remind him of what he gave up, which has to hurt. So, we'll put another check in the rebound column by Elin's name.
The paparazzi no longer follow Elin around. She's not the subject of endless tabloid speculation and, other than the People magazine interview, she's staying out of the limelight, which is how she likes it.
To me, at least, that's a sign that she's rebounded quite well.
Meanwhile, Tiger's life is still subject to endless analysis, tabloid speculation and rumor. Sure, he should expect some of that because he's a public figure, but it was never this bad before the divorce.
So, much like the other stuff, put another check by Elin's name in the "out of the spotlight" column.
One of the best ways to tell if someone's on the rebound is whether or not they're dating again. And, based on The Sun's report, Elin is back out there playing the field.
So, clearly, she has moved on from Tiger.
Tiger is many things lately. But a regular on the dating scene is nowhere on that list. He's still holed up in his Florida dream house by himself when he's not golfing, which pretty much tells us all we need to know.
Here's the most convincing piece of evidence that Elin has rebounded from the Tiger debacle: She's returned to business as usual. She's hanging out with the kids, going to school and generally picking up where she left off before the divorce, sans Woods.
If that doesn't show she's rebounded from the whole incident, I don't know what does.
Tiger just hasn't been the same player or person since last November. He's still trying to figure out where to go as a person. His golf game has fallen off a cliff and is only lately showing signs of life.
He was reportedly stunned when he found out Elin was dating and is clearly not over her yet. In short, he's nowhere near being back to normal.
After reviewing the facts, it's clear that Elin has moved on from the whole ordeal much better than Tiger has. She seems content in her new life and is even looking for love at school.
Tiger? Well, not so much.
Maybe we'll be a bit more convinced of his rebounding ability when he actually wins a tournament.
