Martina Hingis: Former Tennis Star Marries French Show Jumper
Martina Hingis, the former tennis star and World's No. 1, has married French show jumper Thibault Hutin.
According to Swiss newspaper Sonntags Blick, the couple held a small, private ceremony Friday with family and friends in attendance.
People reported the ceremony took place in a Paris suburb of Neuilly-sur-Seine.
A reception was held at a downtown Paris hotel, and the couple is expected take their honeymoon in the Maldives.
Since she has kept her private life a secret since retiring from the pro circuit in 2007, the wedding came as a big surprise.
Hingis held the World No. 1 ranking for over 200 weeks before injuries slowly took a toll on her career.
Hingis and Hutin reportedly met at one of Hutin's show jumping competitions and began dating in April 2010.
Prior to getting hitched to the 24 year-old Hutin, Hingis was engaged to Andreas Bieri, a Swiss attorney.
Here's a look back at the rise and fall of Martina Hingis on the court.
