Brett Favre Inactive: Report Claims He Will Be Placed On IR, Ending NFL Career
Brett Favre inactive is only beginning to sink in with the news he will not play Monday night against the New York Giants.
In fact, it's entirely possible his final NFL pass has already been thrown.
According to ESPN's Ed Werder, Favre has told friends he plans to be placed on injured reserve for the final three games of the season.
Werder stated Favre would make the move in an effort to end weekly speculation about his future and in an effort to obtain a $1 million bonus.
The decision to bring his record-setting 297 consecutive games started streak to a close hardly comes as a surprise.
Numerous reports in the last two days claimed Favre told teammates and media members he almost certainly wouldn't play this week.
The postponement of yesterday's game to tonight merely delayed the inevitable.
After being healthy enough to start every game since 1992, Brett Favre's luck has finally come to an end.
What a wild ride it has been.
