WWE TLC, Monday Night Raw, The Miz and All the Latest WWE News
WWE TLC is just six days away, but we've got one more huge Monday Night Raw show before we get there.
In fact, I'll be at the New Orleans Arena in person tonight for the WWE Slammy Awards, honoring the best—and sometimes worst—that the company has given us over the last year.
And I'm excited to be there for what should be an entertaining night.
However, as much as I like to complain about some of the stuff the WWE does, I still have confidence that the company will put on a nice go-home show to the TLC pay-per-view event.
The Miz will defend his WWE Championship for the first time on pay-per-view against Randy Orton on Sunday, and it's obviously an important title defense for the budding young star.
But will Miz be entering the event as the WWE Champion and the Superstar of the Year?
Well, let's take a look at some of the biggest news from the WWE right now, including the latest on TLC and tonight's Raw show.
WWE TLC is less than a week away, but what lies ahead is what I'm really looking forward to.
At Sunday's pay-per-view, I fully expect the WWE to have the blowoff matches to a couple of feuds like Kane-Edge and Sheamus-John Morrison.
At least I hope so.
The WWE has six weeks between the TLC pay-per-view and the Royal Rumble, which is like an eternity by the WWE's standards.
The month and a half length between those two events should provide ample time for the WWE to build up new feuds on both Raw and Smackdown.
With the possible returns of Triple H and CM Punk on the horizon, there could be some new energy thrown into the main event scene.
Here's to hoping the WWE capitalizes on a golden opportunity following this Sunday.
WWE News: Smackdown's resident jump-roping Diva Rosa Mendes was named the new Queen of FCW after beating A.J. on Sunday's episode of FCW Wrestling.
The NXT Season 3 contestant had held that crown since February, but she is queen no more.
So what does it mean for A.J.?
Well, I have no confirmation of this, but I wouldn't be surprised to see A.J. moved to the main roster.
She's been rumored to be headed to Raw alongside her NXT coach, Primo, and I wouldn't mind seeing another fresh face in the Divas division.
A.J., who finished in third place on NXT Season 3, can probably out-wrestle half the Divas who are already on the roster.
I think it's just a matter of a time before we see her there.
Oh, by the way, here's a random trivia note: Rosa Mendez has never won a match on WWE television. Ha!
WWE News: Two WWE stars are dealing with painful injuries, and of them went under the knife last week.
Goldust underwent should surgery last week, and he chimed in on Twitter with his thoughts on the operation: “Shoulder surgery. Was the most pain I’ve ever been through…I think they took my arm off and reattached it,”
Most reports indicate that the Bizarre One will be out for five to six months.
In other injury news, Kaval had an MRI on his injured left ankle last week, but he noted on Twitter that he hasn't gotten the results.
The NXT Season 2 winner attended the Tribute to the Troops taping this weekend but was not used.
The injury is a tough break for Kaval, so let's hope it's nothing too serious.
I probably wouldn't expect to see either of those wrestlers on hand for the Slammy Awards on Monday Night Raw tonight.
WWE News: Relax, it's not what you think--Smackdown! isn't Switching to Tuesday nights.
But according to multiple online reports, the WWE plans on airing three consecutive nights of programming on the USA Networking next week, including a live version of Smackdown! on Tuesday, Dec. 20.
The "Tuesday Night Smackdown!" event will reportedly be sandwiched between Raw (airing in its regular Monday time slot) and a two-hour version of Tribute to the Troops on Wednesday.
There's no word yet on how this will affect WWE NXT, which airs on the WWE website on Tuesday nights.
Obviously the company would have to move its airing to a different time, but the WWE shouldn't have a problem with that considering the show doesn't have a specific time slot on a major network.
Speaking of Smackdown!, here's an interesting take on whether Kane should be in the main event.
2010 Slammy Awards: Ladies and gentlemen, get ready.
The WWE will decide this year's Diva of the Year in...a battle royal.
That's right, the company has decided to torture me with a watered-down, PG version of a match that's never good.
It'll probably go about five minutes, with the Bella Twins getting eliminated simultaneously and Beth Phoenix taking out most of the competition.
Hopefully this year we won't have to see someone like Maria win the match and be named Diva of the Year though.
Remember that?
She hardly ever wrestled and looked terrible when she did, but she somehow still won the award.
So God only knows who the WWE will name as Diva of the Year.
I'm just begging Vince McMahon though: please, please, please do not let LayCool win it.
I don't think I can take another second of hearing their voices on WWE programming.

Monday Night Raw will have some incredibly tough competition tonight.
The show will be going head-to-head with not only Monday Night Football--featuring the Houston Texans and the Baltimore Ravens--but the postponed Minnesota Vikings vs. New York Giants game, which was moved to tonight after the Metrodome roof collapsed early Sunday morning.
The game between Brett Favre's Vikings and Eli Manning's Giants will air on Fox affiliates at 8 p.m. EST.
That's not good news for the WWE, especially considering the drama that follows Favre wherever he goes.
Raw typically takes a dip in the ratings during the NFL season, and tonight's forecast isn't looking good either.
With a three-hour show and strong opposition from two important NFL games, Vince McMahon probably isn't in the greatest of moods right now.
I wonder if he'll try to vamp up the show tonight to pop a higher rating.
In fact, he probably should.

The Miz is the WWE Champion, and as we all know he thinks he's awesome.
But is he awesome enough to win Superstar of the Year?
After all, the voting is in the hands of the fans this year, and Miz hasn't exactly endeared himself to anyone below the age of 15.
I can picture 10-year-old kinds mercilessly pounding away at their keyboard as they cast their votes for John Cena to win the award, while the Mizfits out there try to swing the votes his way.
So when the WWE fans have their final say, will it be Cena, Randy Orton or The Miz?
Better yet, is the voting even if legitimate?
I'm going with the assumption that if Orton or Cena wins, the voting is real.
If The Miz or even someone like Kane wins, the voting is probably a load of crap.
What do all the B/R readers think?
Will the WWE Superstar of the Year really get the most votes from the fans, or will Vince McMahon give it to a heel for storyline purposes?

Monday Night Raw: Is a WWE diva turning heel on tonight's Raw show?
Probably so.
Melina worked as a heel during this week's Tribute to the Troops taping, teaming up with Lay-Cool and Alicia Fox to face Natalya, Kelly Kelly and the Bella Twins in a Santa's Little Helper Match.
Since that show will air this Saturday, the WWE basically has no choice but to pull the trigger on Melina's heel turn tonight on Raw.
Otherwise, there will be a huge logic gap if Melina worked next Monday's Raw as a face, although I guess I wouldn't be completely surprised if that happened.
And by the way, I'm all for a Melina heel turn at this point.
She's always worked better for me when she goes over to the darkside, and Lay-Cool are pretty much the only heel divas who get any significant face time on WWE TV.
A Melina-Natalya feud for the WWE Divas Championship down the road could be good, but I have to admit the one feud I'm really looking forward to is Natalya-Beth Phoenix, which seems almost inevitable at this point.

WWE TLC only has three matches on the card, and it's certainly not going to stay that way.
One additional match that I think we can all expect to see on Sunday is Part Three: John Morrison vs. Sheamus.
The two wrestlers--I refuse to call them superstars unless I have to--have split the first two matches, so it only makes sense to have a rubber match to settle this feud.
With three other matches already having gimmicks, Sheamus and Morrison would likely not have any stipulations in this match.
And there would likely only be one result: Sheamus winning.
I fully expect Triple H to return for the build to the Royal Rumble, so Sheamus will probably get the win to look strong heading into his second feud with "The Game."
In addition to that match, we'll probably get a tag team match with Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov defending the WWE Tag Team Championship.
Oh yeah, speaking of Sheamus, is he the best King of the Ring ever?
