Heisman Trophy 2010: Will Newton Be Jinxed in BCS Title Game if He Wins Trophy?

The Heisman Trophy 2010 ceremony is just a few hours away by now, which basically means that we're that much closer to watching Auburn quarterback Cam Newton hoist the trophy.
But if Newton's primary goal is to lead his Tigers to a win in the BCS National Championship Game in January, should he really be hoping to win the award?
This the question that was posed earlier today by ESPN, which cites the fact that Heisman winners are 2-6 in BCS Title Games.
In other words, is the Heisman Trophy a jinx, not unlike a Sports Illustrated cover or a trade of Babe Ruth?
If so, Oregon's LaMichael James should be just as worried, as his team is also going to play in Glendale later next month.
Regardless, this year's Heisman finalists can take comfort in the fact that they represent the group of vote-getters with the second-best cumulative team winning percentage in Heisman history, as they led their teams to a combined record of 47-2.
