If the Chiefs are going to come out victorious this weekend, Charlie Weis and the rest of the offensive coaching staff are going to have to throw the football early and often.

The Chargers know Cassel isn't going to play this Sunday due to his appendectomy, despite what the Chiefs' PR machine is stating.  They also know that we are going to try to run the ball and control the clock.

We need to hit them with several first down play-action passes to start the game.   The one thing Brodie Croyle can do better than Cassel is throw the deep ball.   He needs to be on target with the first six passes of the day, two of which must result in TDs for the Chiefs.

If we can do that, the Chargers might play more honest and allow us to play smash-mouth football the rest of the game. The game will be close regardless, but I believe it will be a loss if we don't score on big passing plays.

A loss will mean we will need to win the remaining three games of the season to ensure a playoff spot.
