On Wednesday, Urban Meyer announced his resignation as Head Coach at the University of Florida for the second time in two years.  But, unfortunately for Gator Nation, this time it seems like he means it.

In his resignation press conference, Urban Meyer said some passionate and heart-warming words that have made it quite obvious he will not return to coaching anytime soon.  Meyer said, "Sometimes we make it far too complex.  At the end of the day, you're gonna be judged on how you are as a husband, as a father.  Not on how many bowl games you win.  I've never seen my girls play sports, so I've missed those years.  I made a commitment to them that I'm gonna enjoy the best year of their lives."

With the firing of Denver Broncos Head Coach Josh McDaniels, there has been much speculation about the possibility of Urban Meyer reuniting with his beloved Heisman-winner Tim Tebow.  This rumor was immediately shut down by ESPN's Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen once they got wind of it.

Schefter wrote via Twitter, "Now that Urban Meyer has stepped down, what are the chances he reunites with Tebow? RT@mortreport: He will not be coaching in Denver next season."  Mortensen also took this topic to Twitter, saying "There are no dots to be connected on Broncos and Urban Meyer.  Meyer will continue working with university; will stay in Gainesville."

Since Meyer will still be involved with the University of Florida, it is highly unlikely that he will be a head coach for the Denver Broncos, a position that has never been offered to him in the first place.

As expected, Tim Tebow spoke about Meyer's decision, releasing a statement to the press on Wednesday night.

"It was the opportunity of a lifetime to play for a man who will be remembered as one of the greatest football coaches of all time.  But Coach Meyer was more than just a coach to me, he was a father figure who cared about me as a person and taught me valuable lessons that I will never forget.

"While change is never easy, the University of Florida will find the right head coach to continue its proud football tradition and will have the full support of Gator Nation.  I wish Coach Meyer and his family all the best going forward, and they will always be a big part of my life."

Will Meyer ever coach again?  Will Tebow ever flourish in the NFL?  As Tim Tebow's career is uncertain, so is Urban Meyer's future.

Meyer has stepped down from coaching for the time being, but who knows what the future will hold for the two-time national champion?
