Michael HicksSenior Analyst ISeptember 4, 2008

Nico Johnson, a 6-foot-3, 235-pound linebacker, became the Crimson Tide's 14th commitment for the 2009 recruiting class.

He is the No. 24 player in the country from ESPN.com.

He said that staying close to home and is mom helped make the decision to go to Tuscaloosa easy for him.

The five-star prospect chose Alabama over offers from every SEC school and USC.
