According to MMA Fighting, former Strikeforce lightweight champion Josh "The Punk" Thomson (18-3) will take on DREAM lightweight "The Crusher" Tatsuya Kawajiri (26-6-2) at Dynamite!! 2010.

Dynamite!! 2010 will take place at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan and will be live on HDNet on December 31st.

FEG already announced the rematch between current DREAM featherweight champion Bibiano Fernandes against Hiroyuki Takaya at Dynamite!!.  Also expected on the card is a bout between DREAM welterweight champion Marius Zaromskis vs. Kazushi Sakuraba, with the legendary Sakuraba making his welterweight debut.

This will mark Thomson's first trip back to Japan since 2005, when he defeated Daisuke Sugie via kneebar back at Pride- Bushido 8.  The former Strikeforce lightweight champion has been a man on a mission to get back to Gilbert Melendez and the Strikeforce lightweight title.

Thomson last saw action when he defeated K-1 Heros champion Gesias Cavalcante via a somewhat controversial decision at "Strikeforce: Noons vs. Diaz 2."  Many people felt that Cavalcante did enough to win the decision 29-28, however, the judges saw otherwise.

"That's a fight I might kick back and wait for," Thomson told the Las Vegas Sun on Kawajiri.  "I've wanted that fight forever.  He's somebody that excites me."

Tatsuya Kawajiri is coming off a loss to DREAM lightweight champion Shinya Aoki, where he lost via an achilles lock. Despite the loss to Aoki, Kawajiri has proven to be one of the best lightweights from Japan and has wins over Kazanori Yokota, Gesias Cavalcante, and Luiz Firmino.
