BCS National Championship Game 2011: Auburn Tigers vs. Oregon Ducks
BCS National Championship Game 2011 is set in stone thanks to the last weekend of action, and it will definitely pit the Auburn Tigers against the Oregon Ducks. Auburn won the SEC title game this weekend handily dispatching South Carolina, and Oregon finished their regular season undefeated and atop the Pac 10 after taking care of Oregon State in their traditional rivalry game.
Auburn has been embroiled in the Cam Newton controversy but their team has nonetheless delivered, running through the SEC. They beat Alabama in the Iron Bowl, they handled basically all their major tests in-conference and did so in impressive fashion behind the great play of the super athletic Newton. They will be sure to put on a show in the national title game.
Oregon is an extremely fast offensive team, that lives to score and lives to move the ball down the field. They impressively handled the Pac 10, handing Stanford their only loss in what has been, to date, Oregon's biggest game.
I would like Auburn's chances in this game, but given the great stakes at play considering it's for the national title, nothing would surprise me in this marquee match up.
