GoDaddy.Com Bowl 2011: Troy Trojans vs. Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders
The GoDaddy.Com Bowl 2011 doesn't project to have much of a marquee matchup, but with Middle Tennessee State's win over FIU in a key Sun Belt Conference game, the Blue Raiders become bowl eligible, and I think they end up in the .Com Bowl to take on the Troy Trojans.
They are both Sun Belt teams, so this pairing is probably not realistic, meaning Troy will probably end up at the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl, and Miami (Ohio) will end up here in the GoDaddy.com game.
But, for the intent of keeping things straight based on earlier updates, I pair Troy and Middle Tennessee State here. Troy shares the Sun Belt conference title with FIU, as FIU was thwarted by MTSU this weekend in their quest to be the sole conference champion.
MTSU won to gain bowl eligibility in their final game of the year, taking down FIU. They will parlay that bowl eligibility into a GoDaddy.com Bowl appearance.
I think Troy is the better of these two Sun Belt teams, and I expect Troy to have a shot at winning their bowl game, wherever it might be (probably in Detroit). MTSU, I don't see them pulling out a win this bowl season, as they are probably one of the worst bowl-eligible teams in the country.
