BBVA Compass Bowl: Kentucky Wildcats vs. Temple Owls
BBVA Compass Bowl has a tie with the SEC and the Big East, and I see Kentucky as the team left on the board for the bowl to invite. Big East-wise, though, I've already got all bowl-eligible teams covered, so I am guessing that the MAC's Temple Owls get an invite to fill the void.
Kentucky will be the last-picked of all the SEC teams, but they still played a strong season, and they managed to knock off South Carolina during the season.
Temple finished at 8-4 and enjoyed a renaissance year in the MAC, getting them into bowl eligibility and positioning them for a berth in a small bowl such as this one. The Compass Bowl has not been around very long, and this match up could be promising in terms of being entertaining, pitting two seemingly evenly-matched teams against each other.
The game is set to take place January 8 in Birmingham, Alabama.
