Down 24-20 entering the fourth quarter of last night's game against Matt Schaub, Andre Johnson and the Houston Texans, Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles rattled off 14 unanswered points to pull off a 34-24 victory.

In a game the Eagles needed to win in order to keep their division lead over the New York Giants, several members of the team stepped up and did their part to ensure a victory.

From offense to defense to special teams, all three aspects of the team played a big part in the Eagles' victory last night.

Here, we'll take a look at the five most valuable players in last night's win.

5b. David Akers, K

David Akers, one of the most accurate kickers in the NFL, hit both of his field goals last night.

Though his longest kick was from 36 yards, we've seen many missed field goals cost teams so far this season.

So, while Akers' consistency is often taken for granted, he still deserves a mention as a key to the Eagles' victory.

5a. Sav Rocca, P

Rocca punted three times last night.

All three punts were downed inside the Texans' 20 yard line.

Winning the field position battle is key in close games, and Rocca gave the Eagles a big edge.

4. Owen Schmitt, FB

Schmitt's five yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter was the play that all but sealed the victory for the Eagles.

Up 27-24, Vick found Schmitt in the flat and he did the rest, taking the ball to the end zone to give the Eagles a two possession lead with just over four minutes left in the game.

It was Schmitt's only catch on the night, but he certainly made it count.

3. Quintin Mikell, S

On a day when the Eagles' secondary was missing Asante Samuel, their star corner, Mikell stepped up and had a big game.

Mikell did a little bit of everything, racking up seven tackles, including one for a loss, to lead the team.

He also had two passes defensed and hit the quarterback once.

He came up big on the last drive of the first half, twice stopping Texans players after 20+ yard gains and keeping them from getting into field goal range.

2. LeSean McCoy, RB

LeSean McCoy was a dual threat against the Texans.

He only ran for 44 yards on 12 carries, but he scored a touchdown.

His biggest contributions came in the passing game, where he was targeted eight times and had eight catches for 86 yards and another touchdown.

Anytime a team has a running back that can be effective in the passing game, it's a major plus.

1. Michael Vick, QB

Michael Vick is not only the most valuable player to the Philadelphia Eagles, he may very well be the most valuable player in the NFL.

Vick threw for over 300 yards and two touchdowns last night.

In addition to that, he also led the team in rushing with 48 yards on 10 carries. He scored the go-ahead touchdown on a two yard run.

Vick can do everything a coach could possibly ask a quarterback to do, and he's a big reason why the Eagles will hold off the Giants in the NFC East race.
