Manchester United’s South Korean midfielder Park Ji-Sung may be on the verge of leaving the club after a Spanish side have reportedly been scouting the players for months.
La Liga side Sevilla are planning to test Sir Alex Ferguson’s resolve by bidding for the player, who still has two and a half years left on his current contract.
Apparently, according to The Daily Mirror, Park’s representatives have met with the Technical Director of Sevilla, Victor Orta and as United would probably not offer him a new deal, Sir Alex may look to cash in now, or the end of the season.
Being that he is currently 29 years old, this seems likely as he will likely be replaced by a new signing or a youngster within the next two seasons.
Personally, I really hope Park doesn’t go as he is a class player that can play on either wing and is very versatile. He may not be one of the star names, yet he constantly puts in good performances. I would like to see him see out his contract at the club as he is still a very useful asset to the United midfield.
With United now top of the league, they will need all of the current squad to pull together to may a solid title bid, and Park could be a key factor in the title race.
