BCS Projections Week 14: No. 5 Stanford Cardinal Make BCS Run
BCS Projections Week 14 How They Got Here: The Stanford Cardinal started this season 4-0 until they met with the Oregon Ducks. They suffered a brutal beating in Eugene, but they haven't lost a game since. The Cardinal pounded the Arizona Wildcats and Cal Bears, and they were ranked No. 6 heading into this weekend.
Why No. 5: Stanford is another school to benefit from the Boise State and LSU losses this week, and after the Cardinal's shutout of the Oregon State Beavers on Saturday, this team will get bumped up a spot in the BCS rankings.
Staying Power: If everything goes as expected in next weekend's games, Stanford will remain in the top five of the BCS standings. Unfortunately, the TCU Horned Frogs will probably take the Rose Bowl spot from the Cardinal, but we should see Stanford make an appearance in the Fiesta Bowl against either the Oklahoma Sooners or the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
