BCS Projections Week 14: No. 13 Boise State Takes a Dive After Loss to Nevada
BCS Projections Week 14 How They Got Here: The Boise State Broncos made a big statement this season as they defeated the Virginia Tech Hokies in Week 1 and the Oregon State Beavers in Week 4. The Broncos became one of the main non-BCS competitors to set their sights on a BCS National Championship.
But on Friday night, two missed field goals sealed the Broncos' fate as they fell to the Nevada Wolf Pack in overtime.
Why No. 13: When a top-five team suffers a loss, they usually find themselves falling much further than a team ranked, say No. 20 would. The Utah Utes fell from No. 5 to No. 14 after a loss to TCU, so the No. 13 spot seems about right for the Broncos.
Staying Power: I don't expect Boise State to move much in the coming week. After all, their season is over. However, if Oregon State can somehow pull off the upset over Oregon, we could see the Broncos move up a few spots.
