What Does the WWE Future Hold for Chris Jericho?

Everyone knows who Jericho is and what he can do.
Like most, I believe the feud he has going on with Shawn Michaels is the most consistent and authentic story they have going. Not to mention that when it comes to the ring work, these guys have amazing chemistry.
The question is, What happens to Chris Jericho after this feud concludes? Assuming Jericho goes over, does he get elevated to the main event?
There's definitely a lot of variables to throw in here. But one thing that seems all but cemented to me is the fact that Kane will not be competing for the World Title. What I'm worried about is that JBL and Cena will meddle their way into the picture. I think it'd be perfectly fine with Punk, Jericho, and Batista. There's proof that Jericho can put on a decent match even with Batista.
