It's always boggled my mind how Cam Newton's story could be considered a feel-good one.

He had to transfer away from Florida because he was in possession of a stolen laptop. Then he transferred to junior college and rode that back to success. When he was being recruited back into the SEC, he allegedly sought money for his services. Or at least his dad allegedly did.

Reports have also surfaced that he cheated multiple times when he was at Florida.

I don't know about you all, but nothing about that really sounds like a feel-good story. Is it because he smiles a lot? Or is it that he's a great football player? I can't deny that fact.

I want to like Cam Newton for his incredible talent as a football player, but whenever the announcers start talking about his great story, it just makes me a little bit sick inside.
