Pro Wrestling Top 25: Can't Dodge This...No Matter What!
No. 1 Batista (RAW)
The Animal felt bad for what he did to John Cena at Summerslam. Then he showed his true aggression by decimating Kane and getting a little payback for his buddy Rey Mysterio. Now he has to focus on the Championship Scramble at Unforgiven.
No. 2 Chris Jericho (RAW)
The new and improved Ayatollah has made it clear that he is not sorry for his actions over the past few months. Now despite giving him numerous chances to walk away, Jericho now has a date with redemption against Shawn Michaels at Unforgiven.
No. 3 Matt Hardy (ECW)
After getting screwed by Tony Atlas not once but twice in his quest to become World Champion, Matt Hardy gets one last chance at securing his name in history as one of the five men in the ECW Championship Scramble.
No. 4 The Undertaker (SmackDown!)
The Deadman has returned with vengeance on his mind. After sending Edge straight to Hell via a Chokeslam, ‘Taker has now set his sights on the General Manager who banned him from the WWE a few months ago: Vickie Guerrero. Hope she’s not afraid of the dark.
No. 5 Kurt Angle (TNA)
The Olympic Champion has had a tumultuous few weeks. After losing his gold medal in two straight matches via a guitar, Angle managed to use an interference by Samoa Joe to defeat Kevin Nash and punch his ticket for the Four Ways to Glory Match.
No. 6 CM Punk (RAW)
The World Heavyweight Champion is finally getting the push he needs on RAW. After getting shocked in his hometown, he picked up some much needed momentum over JBL heading into the Championship Scramble. But who’s next to face the Champion?
No. 7 Triple H (SmackDown!)
The Game had a lot of fun at the expense of Khali and Kenny the past two weeks. After helping Jeff Hardy defeat Khali to enter the chase, Pedigrees Kenny after the bout, then defeats Shelton Benjamin this past Friday. Not a bad day at the office for The King of Kings.
No. 8 John Cena (RAW)
The Chain Gang General is enjoying his final week in the Top 25, as he will be on the sidelines for the remainder of the year after surgery to repair a herniated disc this past week. However, he deserves props for competing on RAW the night after the injury happened.
No. 9 Kane (RAW)
Whether you love him or hate him, he is one sick and twisted individual. After revealing the contents of the sack, Kane may have bitten off more than he can chew. Not only does he have to deal with Batista, at Unforgiven, he will also have to deal with…
No. 10 Rey Mysterio (RAW)
No one would have wished this injury on Cena, but don’t expect Rey to complain. With Cena on the shelf, Mysterio now has another chance to become World Heavyweight Champion at Unforgiven in the World Heavyweight Championship Scramble.
No. 11 AJ Styles (TNA)
The Phenomenal One has been a driving force in the fight against the veterans. He was the only one to come down and face Sting this past Thursday night. Oh yeah, did we mention he has possession of Angle’s Olympic Gold Medal?
No. 12 Big Show (SmackDown!)
The World’s Largest Athlete has been on a rampage since getting the shaft by Vickie Guerrero. Thanks to her mistake, Show has decimated everybody in his path. Someone might want to tell Vladimir Kozlov to watch his back cause he might be next.
No. 13 Glamarella (RAW)
In one of the most unbelievable moves in Top 25 History, Santino and Beth Phoenix have managed to win the IC and Women’s Championship. They’ve also managed to make my stomach turn. Can someone please shave that damn unibrow now?
No. 14 Cryme Tyme (RAW)
The duo from Brooklyn managed to steal…I mean, “borrow” the World Tag Team Championships from Team Priceless. Now they have “conned” their way into a World Tag Team Championship Match with them at Unforgiven.
No. 15 Shelton Benjamin (SmackDown!)
The Gold Standard has been on fire as of late. He qualified for the WWE Championship Scramble last week. And this past Friday, he hit Paydirt by taking out three of his opponents for Scramble, including WWE Champion Triple H.
No. 16 The Brian Kendrick (SmackDown!)
New look. New attitude. New challenge. The man who was one half of the longest running tag team championship duo is now on the verge of becoming a WWE Champion. The catch? He has to beat four other guys who want it just as badly, including The Game.
No. 17 Jeff Hardy (SmackDown!)
The high flyer has recovered from his demons and is now poised to finally become WWE Champion at Unforgiven. But the even better news for Hardy is that he got a measure of revenge over MVP last week on SmackDown!
No. 18 Sting (TNA)
The most enigmatic man in TNA now has competition for that mysterious title. The Icon has made it clear that he wants respect by taking out Joe and Styles. But now he may have to face an old “friend” in the near future.
No. 19 Samoa Joe (TNA)
The Submission Machine didn’t compete this week, but he did make his own IMPACT by taking out his Jedi Master. Joe now knows two of his three opponents for No Surrender, but the big twist will come next week when Styles faces Christian Cage for the last spot.
No. 20 Taylor Wilde (TNA)
The Knockouts Champion found out that her friend Gail Kim is no longer with TNA, but that didn’t stop her from getting some payback on The Beautiful People. But she still has to deal with Angelina Love at No Surrender with the gold on the line.
No. 21 ODB (TNA)
My favorite drinking buddy came out to save one of the newest members of The Knockouts, and even issued a personal challenge to Awesome Kong, the woman responsible for sending Kim out of TNA. Anyone else feel like drinking with her?
No. 22 Finlay (ECW)
This Irishman has been a man on a mission. He got some payback this past Tuesday over the man who has been a thorn in his spine, Mike Knox. In the process, he qualified for the ECW Championship Scramble.
No. 23 The Miz (ECW)
The self-proclaimed Chick Magnet scored the biggest win of his young career. He defeated Evan Bourne this past Tuesday on ECW to qualify for the Championship Scramble and has a date with Matt, Chavo, Finlay and Mark Henry at Unforgiven.
No. 24 The Beautiful People (TNA)
Velvet Sky and Angelina Love got some much needed help in the form of Cute Kip to defeat Roxxi and Taylor last week. The problem: They angered a fuming War Machine in the process. Don’t feel bad. These three had this coming to them.
No. 25 The King of the Mountain (TNA)
For the past few weeks, the signs have been there. It’s clear that he has decided to return to the brainchild of his departed wife. When he’ll return still remains a mystery. But one thing is for sure: He’s got the attention of his fellow veterans Angle, Booker T and Sting.
