Manchester United's attempts to land Dimitar Berbatov dragged on and on without any sign of an end as Tottenham Hotspurs are not willing to let him go for less then £32m.
However, now it appears that Berbatov's move will go through, later today evening.
Hull City's manager Phil Brown has made a £7m bid to take Frazier Campbell to the KC Stadium on a permanent basis but it appears that despite signing Roman Pavlyuchenko, Spurs are hungry to add another striker to their cavalry which would take their number of strikers to four with Giovanni Dos Santos (not really a out and out striker) and Darren Bent already present at White Hart Lane.
Manchester United are keen to take advantage of this. According to The Mirror and The News of the World, they have offered Frazier Campbell alongside £26.5m for Dimitar Berbatov, an offer which Daniel Levy and Juande Ramos are quite happy with.

Step backwards for Campbell. He'd be better off at Hull and he'd still have to say yes.

Well Man Utd are the best team in the country and one of the best in Europe, so yes, signing for any Premiership team would be a step backwards.
For him personally, he'd be better off moving to Hull as he's guaranteed to get a game there - he'll be a third/fourth choice striker at Tottenham.

man if only Campbell could go to Hull maybe they wouldn't waste him like perhaps he would be at Spurs. Spurs signing up talent and then playing mediocre football all the time is just getting a bit old really.

i would have to say Campbell does look like he posesses more quality than Bent... i'd say Tottenham too would give him chances, anyday more chances than he stands to get at United... and looking at the fact that Campbell is still young, id say Spurs will give him better experience which he would be better off with in the long run...

I want Hull to have him, they did terrificly well with him last season and he'd fit in with their p.lay. Hull derserve him, Tottenham don't!

As much as i want Berbatov at Old Trafford, I don't want to see Campbell leave. I'm sick of seeing young, talented players at United being sold (Rossi, Pique, etc.)

I predict Berba will join today, and Robinho won't join Chelsea.
But would not like to see Campbell leave though echoing Jeff's views above. We need to try to hold onto more young talent.

the club needs to show a committment to youth
..
fraizer campbell is the best striker to come through the ranks in years. eric harrison - who brought through our golden generation - says he can be as good as any of them.
i'd rather just pay a few million more for berbatov - having sold a few players and cleared £6m+ annually off the wage bill, we're under no pressure to sell.
i'd rather he goes to hull on loan or even permanently with a buy back when they are inevitably relegated.

What a waste of time developing a player at United if he does move that way. A BIG step down, he is better off on loan for this season and then going back to United and being one of the lead strikers. Is it only me that think that Fergie is letting the young ones go too quick? Look at Rossi, he let him go and he was one of the best strikers in spain last year, and Pique too, just as he was proving how good he is they let him go back to Barca.
