Giants vs Eagles Sunday Night Football: Ellis Hobbs Takes Serious Hit UPDATED
Ellis Hobbs was returning the Eagles kick and took a vicious hit from a Giants defender. Hobbs immediately was motionless on the field and was knocked out. It is important to note that it was a legal hit, although it was helmet to helmet contact.
The good news- Hobbs was seen moving and attempted to get up and walk off the field himself, but was unable to get up. But, the medical staff advised him to stay on the ground and take the utmost precaution and not risk anything.
The bad news- Hobbs has a history of neck injuries and was out the entire end of the last season with a set of neck injuries. The Eagles are deciding it to play it safe and take him off of the field on the cart.
He is giving the crowd the thumbs up sign! That is a good sign.
I'll update as soon as I know more on Hobbs' injury.
Hobbs has full use of all extremities, still no word on X-Rays as of now.
Hobbs walked out of the X-Ray room with a neck brace on. The X-Rays came back negative.
