In what boxing analyst Max Kellerman called the "knockout of the year," Sergio Martinez KO'ed Paul Williams in second round of Saturday night's WBC middleweight title fight with a brutal left hook to the chin.
Take a look at the video above as Martinez, 35, catches Williams unaware and sends him sprawling to the canvas at 1:10 of the second round.
Martinez improved to 46-2-2 (25 KOs) career, while Williams—who many said could have landed a fight with Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather with a win over Martinez—dropped to 39-2.
"I got caught with a punch," Williams reportedly said after the fight, while paramedics were checking him out.
Now, it appears that Martinez could be the one who set himself up for a date with Pacquiao, Mayweather or Shane Mosley, not to mention a big payday.
