Royal Rumble: The No. 30 Spot Goes To...

1 of 6

I have been thinking and watching old you tube Rumble videos and the one thing that pops out to me is the number 30 entrant.

It's usually someone we don't know, unless it is leaked, returning from injury, or from a movie, or some reason as to when there music hits we all stop and say oooo cool.

After tonight the Royal Rumble will be after TLC, which I believe is a bull PPV. There are many choices as of now that could be made for who will get it. I have made a list of five guys that could possibly take the spot.

So if you close your eyes and imagine hearing these words as the number thirty guy makes his way to the ring.

Although the number 30 spot has only pulled two winners at the number (Undertaker 2007,John Cena 2008) it is still a coveted spot and 2011 could possibly make a third time.

John Cena?

I put this one on here, possibly prematurely, since Orton just won the free or fired match stipulation with John Cena.

If indeed Cena does take time off, this would be a great comeback for him. He is already only one of two people to ever come out number thirty and win the rumble, along with the Undertaker.

This also would make the most sense since it looks as if it will be Barrett vs Orton for a while now. Cena could come back perfectly in time to make it either a one on one match with Barrett (just who I believe will have the title by then) or a triple threat match with Cena, Orton, and Barrett.

John Cena technically started the real Royal Rumble in 2005. His stats since then are.

2005- Entered number 25.  Lasted for 15 minutes and 28 seconds. He made it to the final two but was eliminated by the future winner Batista. He eliminated 3 people, one with the help of Batista.

2006- Was in a match against Edge. Won the match.

2007- Was in a match against Umaga. Won the match.

2008- John Cena made a surprise comeback in this Royal Rumble as the number 30 entrant. He lasted 8 minutes and 28 seconds. He eliminated 4 people.

2009- Was in a match against JBL. Won the match.

2010-Entered number 19. Lasted 22 minutes and 11 second. Eliminated 4 people before being eliminated by Edge.

    2011- entered number 30?

The only down side of this would be the fact that he already has a surprise return win in the rumble as the number 30 entrant, but with the way he is loved so much I don't see any reason why they would not do it again.

HHH?

Trips has been doing Royal Rumble's for a while now. He currently has one win at the Rumble under his belt. He is recovering from an injury right now. Most people are saying that he may become the new Raw GM but if he were to come back the Rumble would be an epic way to do it.

HHH's first Rumble came in 1996 when he was Hunter Hearst Helmsley.

1996- Entered number 1. He lasted the longest time wise at 48 minutes and 1 second before he was eliminated by Diesel. He was the 19th person eliminated and failed to eliminate anybody.

1997- Entered number 12. He was eliminated by Goldust. Again he did not eliminate anybody. Earlier that night he had a title defense against Goldust for the IC title, which he kept.

1998- Was in a casket match against HBK and Untertaker. He did however eliminate Owen Hart.

1999- Entered number 23. Lasted 14 minutes and 19 seconds. Eliminated two people.

2000-Was in a match against Cactus Jack.

2001-Was in a match against Kurt Angle.

2002- HHH won this Royal Rumble. He entered number 22. He eliminated 4 people.

2003-Was in a match against Scott Steiner.

2004-Was in a match against HBK.

2005-Was in a match against Randy Orton.

2006. Entered number 1. Lasted 1 hour and nine seconds. He eliminated 5 people. He lasted all the way to number 28 before being eliminated by Rey Mysterio.

    2007-Was not in the card.

2008--Entered number 29. He lasted 11 minutes and 22 seconds. He eliminated 6 people before he was eliminated by John Cena.

2009-Entered number 7. Lasted 49 minutes and 55 seconds. He eliminated 6 people before being eliminated by Randy Orton.

2010- entered number 8th. Lasted 17 minutes and 51 seconds. He eliminated 3 people before being eliminated by HBK.

Could HHH return at number 30 to win the 2011 Royal Rumble.

Wade Barrett?

Barrett has yet to compete in a Royal Rumble but I put him on here because it seems like the only real logical choice for the Raw brand.

If this three way feud is to go on, which I am sure it will, Barrett winning only makes sense if Orton has the title.

Randy Orton?

5 of 6

I put Orton on here for the same reason as Barrett's explanation. If Barrett has the title, again, it would only make sense that Orton would win.

Unlike Barrett, Orton has had time in the Royal Rumble. He also has a win in the Rumble.

2004- Entered number 2. Lasted 33 minutes and 43 seconds.Eliminated 5 people before being eliminated by Mick Foley.

2005-Was in a match against HHH.

2006-Entered number 30. Lasted 13 minutes and 4 seconds.Eliminated 2 people before being eliminated by Rey Mysterio.

2007-Entered number 16. Lasted 27 minutes and 14 seconds. Eliminated 2 people before being eliminated by HBK.

2008-Was in a match against Jeff Hardy.

2009- Won the Royal Rumble. Entered number 8. Eliminated 2 people. Lasted 48 minutes and 27 seconds.

2010-Was in a match against Sheamus.

     2011- entered number 30?

     So can Orton do it?

Christian?

6 of 6

Yes, The Captain. I was reading an article by Rize. (http://bleacherreport.com/articles/521750-drive-with-rize-must-read-major-royal-rumble-newschristian-punk-update) ------(little plug for you Rize lol)

It said that it was possible that Christian could return by the Rumble. Now while Christian may not be on every bodies mind as a pick to win the Rumble but biased aside this really makes the most sense.

Think about it for a second. It's pretty clear who will get a title shot at Wrestlemania on Raw. Smackdown would have the best choice to win the rumble to continue the World title shot at Wrestlemania.

I think there is a very good chance that Edge will win the title at the next PPV. If Edge continues to hold the belt until the Rumble and Christian wins it, not only would that be the best storyline in a while but it would also get more people to buy Wrestlemania.

Christian has been around for a while and has had his share of the Royal Rumble.

His first Royal Rumble was in 1999 but it was a singles match in which he defeated Jeff Hardy. He did the same in 2000 when he defeated Steve Blackman, but that was his first Royal Rumble.

2000- Entered number 4. He lasted 2 minutes and 8 seconds. He didn't eliminate anybody and was eliminated by Rikishi.

2001- E&C defended their WWF Tag-Team titles unsuccessfully against the Dudley Boyz.

2002-Entered 13. Lasted 12 minutes and 14 seconds. Eliminated 3 people before being eliminated b Stone Cold.

2003-Entered number 6. Lasted 9 minutes and 3 seconds. Eliminated one person before being eliminated by Chris Jericho.

2004-Entered number 22. Lasted 7 minutes and 39 seconds. He failed to eliminate anybody before again being eliminated by Chris Jericho.

2005-The year that almost was for Christian..sigh...Entered number 29. Lasted 2 minutes and 9 seconds. Again did not eliminate anybody and was eliminated by Batista.

    2005-2008- TNA

2009- Was not in the card.

2010- ECW title match against Ezekial Jackson.

    2011-entered number 30?

So will Christian be number 30 at the Royal Rumble?
