Athletes Made For Television
There are very few athletes that make us laugh, cry, and downright p'ed off. This piece is not about the most popular or hated athletes, but rather the ones that keeps you glued to the television screen when he/she is on—no matter how a person feels about them.
Warren Sapp

This retired defensive tackle for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and irrelevant Oakland Raiders is a joy to watch on the small screen. From his Beyonce' style end zone celebrations to his candid interviews, Sapp has undeniable charisma—which shouldn't surprise anyone that the former defensive juggernaut is featured in the upcoming season of ABC's Dancing with the Stars.
Terrell Owens

Ah, the "hateable" wide receiver Terrell Owens. Despite the hatred most football fans outside of Dallas, Texas share towards him, there is no denying two things—the man can ball and gets people hanging on his every word. Whether it is insinuating his quarterback is homosexual or just plain disrespecting his teammates, face it—you can't stop watching the guy. In fact, his reaction to the Cowboys' playoff loss to the Giants last season deserved an Oscar in itself.
Chad Johnson

The man they call "Ocho Cinco" has had his fair share of controversy himself. Stating that you wouldn't play for a team that has supported you all offseason only to come back and chance your stance does not earn many supporters.
However, it should be universally agreed that the NFL would be very boring without Chad Johnson and his trademark touchdown celebrations. The River Dance, sporting a jersey that says "Ocho Cinco" (which is allegedly his legal name as of today), and challenging any cornerback to cover him are just a few of the antics that make fans laugh. Oh, his fashion sense is rather—unique at best.
Brett Favre

Brett Favre?! Yes, that Brett Favre. No, I am not placing him on the list because he seems like a genuine guy and gives it his all, but rather due to his nausea-inducing break-up from the Green Bay Packers—the only thing missing from that saga was the rest of the cast of Days of Our Lives.
Jason Taylor
Yet another football player makes this list. Never mind the fact nobody has more sacks than him the last six seasons or that he has been blessed with boyish good looks that have somehow remained in tact. Taylor has a charm—a type of charisma that draws people to him.
That was definitely on display in his last stint on ABC's Dancing with the Stars—where he was first runner up. Jason Taylor has even stated that he would be interested in delving into Hollywood once in playing days wane. Well, if The Rock can do it, Taylor can too.

Gilbert Arenas

There's no doubt that Gilbert Arenas is one of the NBA's most talented and popular players. The Washington Wizards guard is also the master of putting on a show. Maybe it's his last minute in-game heroics or his "Hibachi!!!" scream—or his million dollar pool that puts any "baller" to shame that does it for.
Shaquille O'Neal

How could I not feature the man formerly known as Kazaam? As an actor, platinum/gold selling rapper, and winner of more beefs than any hip-hop artist could dream of (Kobe Bryant, Bill Walton)—I think it's safe to say Shaq has his next career planned out once his current one ends.
Charles Barkley
I couldn't end this list without the most entertaining sports analyst out there—Sir Charles Barkley. You know, the man who is one of the NBA's greatest players of all time. The same man that is so brutally honest on Inside the NBA on TNT that you have to love him.
He has an upcoming reality show based on refining his golf skills (I use that word loosely) and is the star of T-Mobile's Fav 5 commercials with Dwayne Wade. And c'mon—how can you hate on a man that embarrasses Dwayne Wade on national television?
There you have it—my list of athletes tailor-made for television. The athletes (or former athletes in Warren Sapp's and Charles Barkley's cases) that are as comfortable in front of a camera as they are on the field or court. The ones we can't help, but watch..
